Candy Skeins

I finally gave in to the temptation and purchased some Candy Skein yarn. This is the colorway Spearmint. I LOVE it. Totally worth it. The color is beautiful and the yarn is so soft. This is going to be a pair of socks. I am going to use the pattern Simply Cabled Too from Marigolds' Loft. I won the pattern in a giveaway on her blog a few months ago (Thank you Natalie!!) and have been waiting to find the perfect yarn for it. I think spearmint is it.

If you haven't checked out Tami's, the indie dyer responsible for Candy Skeins, blog Tami's Amis, you really should. She showcases the new colorways each month and shares lots of projects using Candy Skein yarn. But what I really appreciate about her blog is the Wednesday Work-in-Progress and Friday Finished Objects link parties that she hosts. It has opened up a whole new world for me as far as finding awesome, new knitting blogs, being able to share my projects with lots of other people, and receiving so much positive feedback. Her's were the first link parties I took part in. She has done a series about Life As An Indie Dyer which I found fascinating. It is a lot of hard work making a independent yarn dyeing business successful but she makes it all sounds so fun and exciting. I admire her courage and dedication. But most importantly I LOVE her yarn. Next up on my wish list is the Grape Fizz and I would snatch up the rainbow collection and green collection of mini's if she ever made them again.

And finally here is the last of my recent online shopping spree. I bought this blocking kit on overstock. I shopped around and feel like I found a good deal. I like the storage tube they come in, very handy. I need the wires if I ever finish my shawl!
