Have you seen the new Knitty issue?
It has a pretty fun mix of projects. I think the QR-key scarf is pretty hilarious. I can't quite decide if my husband would actually wear it or not? Very fun either way.
I love the solidago socks. Very simple but creative. I haven't done color work before. Maybe they would be a good first project?
Being a quilter I particularly like the Flying Geese socks. Again the color work thing though. My aversion to color work is the same as my aversion to two-at-a-time socks. Carrying multiple balls of yarn around makes knitting not so portable. Which is what I love about it.
The two sweaters I like the best are Jackaroo and Lewis. But I am not really into knitting sweaters so I probably won't be casting those on.
The patterns are fun to look at. I am impressed with the creativity of the designers. But probably the only project I will add to my queue is the Sugar Stick cowl. The one thing I miss most about winter is wearing my cowls, scarves, and shawls. They distract people from the bad clothing choices I make when my husband isn't here to help me pick out my outfits!
